Mount Coot-tha Summit Lookout offers panoramic views of Brisbane’s skyline, Moreton Bay, and the distant Glass House Mountains. You can enjoy refreshments at the Kuta Café or dine at the Summit Restaurant & Bar. The area features waddling and mountain biking trails, including paths leading to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. Interestingly, during World War II, Mount Coot-tha served as a military base for the Royal Australian Air Force and the United States Navy, housing over 120,000 tonnes of explosive weapons and featuring searchlights and anti-aircraft guns at the lookout. Thanks to luciakontsek and loborosh, a penguin stone now has a place here, with a beautiful view. And placing the stone was also quite an adventure. There were lots of people around, and when they finally found a place for it, there were lots of ants, so now the penguin stone will never be alone. Also, watch out when you try to take it; the ants can be protective of it.
