The Deaconess Garden in Edinburgh is a peaceful green space behind the Deaconess House, near the bustling South Bridge. Surrounded by historic stone buildings and modern architecture, the garden offers a quiet retreat for locals and visitors alike. Well-maintained flowerbeds, benches, and trees create a calm atmosphere perfect for a break or a reflective walk. An interesting fact about the garden is that it sits on the site of the former Deaconess Hospital, Scotland’s first hospital to train women as nurses, dating back to the late 19th century. Today, the garden continues the spirit of care and healing in a more tranquil, natural form. We managed to visit during spring, and the cherry blossoms were beautiful, so we decided to hide one penguin stone in the beautiful tree. It is a little higher but still reachable for everyone (except children), and it is hidden behind part of the tree trunk, so it is not immediately visible.
