The Monte Palace Tropical Garden is a testament to Madeira’s abundant natural beauty. Covering over 70,000 square meters, this magnificent garden showcases a diverse collection of plants, trees, and flowers from around the world. As you explore its winding paths and terraced landscapes, you’ll be transported to different corners of the globe without ever leaving Funchal. Our favorite part is the Japanese-inspired area, where the penguin stone rests now. Look for the stone animals and behind one is the penguin stone. Note, it is hidden behind another stone so it’s not immediately visible.
