Built in the 19th century, Pena Palace is a whimsical fusion of architectural styles, blending Moorish, Gothic, and Manueline influences. Its riot of pastel hues and intricate detailing make it an unparalleled gem of the Romantic era. Originally a monastery, King Ferdinand II transformed the ruins into his dream palace, filling it with treasures and mementos from his travels. Now, also a penguin “gemstone” is located near it’s entrance. We wanted to first hide it somewhere inside but decided to put it as you waddle toward it. You will have to search among the stone wall. It is somewhere there.
