The Ljubljana River Boat Tour takes you through the city’s historic center, gliding beneath charming bridges and past stunning architecture, including the iconic Triple Bridge and the colorful art nouveau buildings that line the riverbanks and also takes you to one part of the Ljubljana marshes.

There are several boat tour providers, and you simply have to make your choice. Many of them also offer the possibility to get a drink on the boat.

We chose the Ladjica Zeleni Zmaj and bought the ticket at the Butcher’s Bridge. It is good to know that the Butchers’ Bridge is also Ljubljana’s love bridge. It is a place where countless lovers have symbolically padlocked their love and dropped the keys into the river Ljubljanica, which flows underneath. The Butchers’ Bridge occupies the site amid the former butchers’ booths and Brdar’s creepy but intriguing large statues and small sculptures of deformed little creatures sitting on the parapet, which somehow refer to the story of this past.

It always shows the next boat start. Tickets are 14 € for adults, 7 € for children, and penguins ride for free.

The ride is about 45 minutes long and goes at a nice slow pace.

We were lucky and boarded among the first ones, so we snatched the seats in front of the boat.

As mentioned, we saw the city again from a different perspective, and it was a nice and calm experience. It’s a perfect way to cap off your visit to Slovenia’s enchanting capital. The soothing rhythm of the water and the stunning sights of Ljubljana create an unforgettable experience. So sit back, relax, and let the gentle currents guide you through the heart of this captivating city.

Enjoy the boat ride and waddle on!
