Punta Mona, paradise on Earth
I learned about Punta Mona from the documentary series on Netflix, Down to Earth with Zac Efron. We recommend watching it. Season two just came out. The place intrigued us immediately. It seemed too good to be true, so we did a little digging.
The project was launched in 1997 and is family-owned and supported by the residential community. It is all about regenerative living and connection.
They teach a way of life many should learn because we need regenerative living more than we realize.
Punta Mona is a paradise for some. The area is home to 300 varieties of tropical fruit, nut trees, root crops, plants, herbs, and vegetables. To better grasp the island vegetation, check out their website.
First impressions might be that it is just a utopian place built to enjoy; however, do not be fooled. Yes, of course, it is a beautiful place, but there is more to it.
It is more than an off-the-radar getaway on the coast of Costa Rica. It is an educational center where they frequently host courses in permaculture, herbalism, mycology, yoga, and the arts. Their mission is to practice and teach a simpler, more regenerative way of living.
When visiting the island, you will not only observe, but you will become part of it. You will live alongside the permanent residents and share the way of life. It is about getting to know the project, the land, and the people. Do not go there if you want to experience a classic resort vacation. You will have to pull your sleeves up here.

Only when I look up what fruits they have on the farm, half of them I had never heard about, but I bet they are tasty.
