Kranj is often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors, Ljubljana and Bled. However, Kranj offers a unique, less crowded, and equally captivating experience. Kranj’s history dates back to the Roman times, and its old town is a testament to its storied past. The city is perched on a rocky promontory at the confluence of the Kokra and Sava rivers, a strategic location that has made it a significant settlement through the ages. The city is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Slovenian Alps, offering numerous opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Kranj may be one of Slovenia’s lesser-known destinations, but it’s a city that promises a rich and rewarding experience. We stopped here on our way to Bled as we had a friend here, Eddie the Hedgehog. We waddled around the city and then went down under the bridge. It’s a nice waddle down there, and we found a perfect spot for a penguin stone. It’s right next to an elf house.
