The three‑tiered Cloak Bridge (Plášťový most) at Český Krumlov Castle in South Bohemia is an example of Baroque ingenuity: its 30 m span soars 40 m above a deep ravine, supported by sturdy stone arches. Built in stages from the late 17th century onward, primarily between 1748 and 1765, it replaced medieval wooden drawbridges and seamlessly links the Upper Castle to the Baroque theatre, picture gallery, gardens, and even towards the Minorite monastery. Enclosed corridors on the top two levels once allowed nobles to stroll through in cloaks. At the same time, the open walkway below offers panoramic views of the Vltava River and the charming red‑rooftopped town. A fascinating detail: brick railings display statues of saints, St. Wenceslas, John of Nepomuck, Anthony of Padua, and Felix of Cantalice, though the originals are now preserved in the castle lapidarium. Below it, we found a perfect place to hide a penguin stone.
