Osaka Castle, located in Osaka, Japan, is one of the most famous and historically significant landmarks in the country. The original Osaka Castle was built in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a powerful daimyo (feudal lord) during the Sengoku period. It played a crucial role in the unification of Japan during the late 16th century. Following Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s death, the castle became the center of a power struggle. It was attacked and eventually fell during the Siege of Osaka (1614-1615) led by Tokugawa Ieyasu, marking the end of the Toyotomi clan. Around the castle is a beautiful park, and thanks to our friend luciakontsek, who took the penguin stone on her adventure, there is one near Osaka Castle. The stone didn’t make it inside as there was a very long queue in front of the castle, but it was left with a castle view.
