One of the most iconic monuments in Edinburgh, offering a perfect postcard view of the city, is the Dugald Stewart Monument. This monument was built to memorialize Dugald Stewart, a Scottish philosopher and professor at the University of Edinburgh. It sits on the city’s famous Calton Hill. The monument is modeled similarly to the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates in Athens, and the design follows a circular temple of 9 fluted Corinthian columns surrounding an urn. And thanks to Javi, who took a penguin stone on his adventure, one is hidden here.
