The first time I saw a photo of Lake Bled, captured from Mala Osojnica, I wrongly assumed a drone took it. I had no idea this elevated vantage point was a mere 30-minute hike from Lake Bled’s southwestern shore. Mala Osojnica, Velika Osojnica, and Ojstrica are three forested hills that rise above the western coast of Lake Bled in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. These hills serve as viewpoints, offering sweeping views of Lake Bled, Bled Island, and the medieval clifftop Bled Castle. Mala Osojnica, Velika Osojnica, and Ojstrica are all linked together by a single trail. We recommend waddling to the Mala Osojnica viewpoint first, then continuing to Velika Osojnica (optional), and lastly to the Ojstrica viewpoint. The waddle is worth it. The penguin stone is located at Velika Osojnica, where you can find a bench with a heart.
