Did you know penguins collect stones?

One by one, each pair of penguins collects small stones and pebbles and uses them to line a small depression in the ground that they have chosen as a nesting site. The stones keep the eggs dry by allowing snow and water to drain around them. It is mostly Adelie and Gentoo penguins, but still.

And now you can collect stones as well. But not just any stones. These are wing-painted penguin stones. OR you can collect the memories of the amazing places you will visit once you start the journey of penguin stones.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know about the Penguin Stones already. For newbies, in short, there are penguin stones scattered around the world—which you can find, keep as a souvenir, take a picture of and put it back, or put in a new location (in case you do this, let me know so we can update the location for others to find them).

And let’s not forget that penguins collect stones themselves for their loved ones.

We collect stones from nature, paint them, give them numbers on the back, and off they go to spread happiness—Have you ever seen a sad person with a penguin?

Where are the penguin stones?

To support our mission, we decided to place 1,000,000 penguin stones all over the world. And we are not doing it alone – it is also thanks to all of you who are participating and taking the penguin stones on your adventures.

If you are interested in also leaving a penguin stone behind your favorite location and being featured on the blog, write a request to lifeguin@gmail.com with the Subject “Penguin Stone Project”, or simply fill out the form below.  Looking forward to sending you some over. Note: By submitting your information, you’re giving us permission to email you.

How much till we reach our goal?
