Castle Hill, known in French as Colline du Château, is a historic and scenic hill in Nice, France. It offers panoramic views and a rich historical context. Castle Hill was the site of a fortified citadel built in the 11th century, a key military stronghold for the Counts of Provence and later the House of Savoy. The citadel was dismantled in 1706 by order of King Louis XIV after the French captured Nice during the War of the Spanish Succession. The hill provides stunning panoramic views of the city of Nice, the Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels), and the Mediterranean Sea. It’s one of the best vantage points for taking in the beauty of the French Riviera. There is lots to discover and waddle around, so it’s a perfect place for a penguin stone. We hid this one between other rocks, so it’s not as easy to find it. When you see a bench then waddle towards it, and look at the wall there. The penguin stone is hidden behind a regular stone.
